WELCOME, CREW MATE!
I’m Kaza Marie, a storyteller, creator, and lifelong lover of immersive worlds. You might know me from my early days as LARP Girl, where I shared my passion for live-action roleplay and all things magical, or you may have recently discovered me through my expanded work on YouTube, streaming, and game design. No matter how you found your way here, I’m so glad our journeys have crossed.
My Story
My adventure begins in Waynesburg, PA. Born in a small town, I was ready to see the world. With the power of anime and dyslexia at my side, I dreamed of forging my own path in life. I’ve always been drawn to the extraordinary, the untold tales, the handcrafted costumes, the deep lore that lives within. Throughout my lifetime, I've lived in many places, and traveled to a variety of realms. What started as a personal love for fantasy and roleplay grew into a public journey as LARP Girl, a name I wore proudly as I explored the vibrant world of immersive storytelling and built a community of fellow dreamers. From foam swords and spell scrolls to panels at major conventions, I used every moment to dive deeper into the worlds we make and the people who bring them to life.
Over time, that journey evolved. After documenting my adventures are LARP, I wanted to do more for the communities that uplifted me. I became a storyteller and design consultant, while also offering my services as a emotional support staff member, and game facilitator. As I went on to tell these epic tales, I found myself struggling to be heard. No matter how many views my videos received, how many people I helped tell their stories, or how much I adapt myself, the dominating demographic of these spaces rarely took me seriously. Which is why I held onto the LARP Girl name for so long. Many fem presenting people are too often disregarded because of unconscious or conscious bias. My ability to play and facilitate was deeply impacted by misogyny. I knew many other femes experienced this, which is why I wore the mantle of Larp Girl for so long. So I could be an anchor for those who received unfair treatment, and advocate for their agency through my work. I used my platform to rally for those who were neglected and overlooked, dedicated to making LARP a safer space for anyone interested. This pathway provided me ongoing education around diversity, equity and inclusion. This process helped me understand my impact, but also the impact of others. I saw how as more fem gamers joined us on the battlefield, that it inspired people from different backgrounds to rally as well. It then became mission to preserve their voices, agency and fun through any privileges I was given in these spaces.
As I began to step more into the design seat at larps, I retired the name LARP Girl for myself. Regifting it back to the world. Years of advocacy worked, and I felt that myself and others had assisted with diversifying the audience of the larp community. Putting the name back into the either, allowed for others to be the Larp Girls in their communities, an outspoken and active ally.
To tell bigger stories. To hold space for others the way so many had done for me. That’s where Kaza Marie was born, a reimagining of myself not just as a LARPer, but as a multi-hyphenate creative: filmmaker, game designer, performer, streamer, and magical being in her own right.
Through my content, I’ve hosted community game nights, led panels on character development and roleplay immersion, documented the joy and complexity of LARP culture, and shared honest reflections on the mental health journey of being a queer creator in a world that doesn’t always make space for us. My work is deeply rooted in inclusivity, imagination, and the belief that stories, when shared, can change the world.
During my many career opportunities, I spent time working for my local NPR and PBS station here in Connecticut, which offered guidance on independent journalism, media literacy training, digital workforce immersion, and I was able to strengthen my skills creating content. Along side ongoing DEI training, this gave me the tools I needed to feel more confident in my work on YouTube. I started documenting my adventures with a new lens, and launched a few LARP Films. Currently, I am working on a few projects for YouTube, running my own LARPs, and making magic at the tea shop. As the Marketing Manager of Tea & Tarot and witchy guide, I am feeling very fulfilled with where I've settled.
Now, this site serves as my digital grimoire, a central place to see where I’ve been, what I’m working on, and what spells I’m casting next. Whether you’re looking to join the Production Crew, find my latest Twitch stream, catch up on YouTube videos, or just scroll through the archives of a life lived, this is the place to start.
Thank you for being part of my story. The next chapter awaits.
With magic and mischief,
Kaza Marie
